David Byrne
David Byrne, the legendary American singer-songwriter and former frontman of the культ band Talking Heads, will return to perform in Croatia this summer on June 28, 2026, appearing for the first time at the Arena Pula, organized by the agency Mars koncerti. Riding the wave of his newly released and critically acclaimed album “Who Is the Sky?”, Byrne has already launched the accompanying world tour, with a full series of new dates for next year now announced. The touring band brings together 13 musicians, singers, and dancers, including members from the American Utopia tour, all of whom remain mobile throughout the entire performance.
Although best known for his groundbreaking tenure as the frontman of the New York new wave band Talking Heads, David Byrne is also widely praised for his solo career, during which he has explored diverse fields such as world music, filmmaking, and performance art. After Talking Heads disbanded in 1991, Byrne continued with numerous projects, including solo albums, film and stage productions, and the founding of his record label Luaka Bop, which played a key role in introducing innovative South American and African artists to Western audiences. Throughout his remarkable career, Byrne has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Grammy, and a Special Tony Award, and has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This will mark Byrne’s fourth overall appearance in Croatia, including three solo performances and one with Talking Heads in 1982.
