Velvet presents: Nu Genea Live Band

Pula will become the center of Mediterranean groove this summer — Nu Genea, the globally acclaimed Neapolitan duo known for their signature blend of funk, disco, soul, and 1970s Italian pop, are coming to Pula for the very first time!

Behind the name Nu Genea are Massimo Di Lena and Luciano Foglia, producers and multi-instrumentalists who have redefined the contemporary dance sound inspired by the southern Mediterranean. Their most celebrated album, Bar Mediterraneo (2022), won over audiences and critics worldwide, delivering a fresh, vibrant, and uplifting energy that bridges European funk with Afro-Italian rhythms.

Nu Genea’s performances are known for their infectious atmosphere and rich live sound, where the duo expands into a full band lineup featuring horns, percussion, and vocals. Their concert in Pula promises a unique fusion of local heritage and Neapolitan soul—an evening that blurs the line between a club experience and an open-air spectacle.

Before the main act, the audience will be warmed up by Giu Nunez, a Brazilian DJ and selector known for her eclectic mix of boogie, funk, Brazilian MPB aesthetics, and South American dance rhythms. Her sets radiate joy, warmth, and organic energy, perfectly setting the stage for Nu Genea’s sun-soaked Mediterranean vision.

The evening will also feature nemanja, a Pula-based project led by multi-instrumentalist Luka Šipetić, whose sound—across a trilogy of albums—blends psych-funk, afrobeat, and Anatolian pop with modern production. Their live performance delivers an explosion of groove and visual energy—a true local gem with global potential.
