**It disappears as soon as you solve it — what is it?**

As part of this year's Bloomsday programme in Pula, the Children's and Young Adults' Department of the Central Library will welcome Igor Jurilj and Valentina Sertić on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, who will lead an educational and creative workshop for children entitled “It Disappears as Soon as You Solve It — What Is It?”, inspired by the picture book James Joyce i tajna pulske Arene.

After many years, the cat James Joyce returns to Pula, the city where he once sought inspiration. Pula has changed, but the Arena, the sea, the streets, the cats, and the secrets are still there. This time, however, Joyce is not wandering alone: local primary school pupils become his guides. Each child participating in the workshop chooses one feature of Pula they would like to show to Joyce and creates a postcard illustration. On the back, they write a short message to his Nora. In the message, Joyce describes what he has rediscovered in Pula and records new words he has learned from the children.
