Zvjezdan Ružić: A Storm in a Teacup
The audience can expect a concert-film spectacle by an exceptional artist—entirely original, authentic, and uncompromising—who will share with them the story of his own storm: A Storm in a Teacup. The new music of Zvjezdan Ružić breathes silence and erupts with power at the same time, blending a cinematic orchestral language with the artist’s intimate inner landscape, taking the listener on a journey through scenes of light, darkness, fragility, and courage.
Zvjezdan Ružić is a five-time winner of the Porin Award and a six-time recipient of the Status Award for Best Pianist in Croatia. As an exclusive Yamaha Piano Artist, he has performed around the world—from Tokyo’s Budokan Arena and the Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall to Los Angeles and across Europe—collaborating with great names such as 2Cellos, Josipa Lisac, and the Harlem Gospel Choir.
The new album erases the boundaries between concert performance and personal confession. It was recorded in three cathedrals, in Vienna, and at the legendary Westpoint Studios in London (Adele, Kanye West), under the production of Doke Kaitner (Paul McCartney), while mastering was done by Robert Vosgien of Capitol Studios (Queen, David Bowie).
At the Istrian National Theatre in Pula, Ružić will be accompanied by an orchestra of top academic musicians. The stage will come alive with large orchestral percussion, church organs, mellotrons, accordion, and a concert grand piano. The audience at INK will experience a gala premiere and a musical journey that transcends genres—an experience where music is not merely listened to, but deeply lived.
