JOKE & CHAKKA - HOPE OPTIONS - ON TOUR!

JOKE & CHAKKA SVRAKA first met in Sombor, Serbia, in 2007, when the French band was touring the former Yugoslavia. Over the following years, their paths continued to cross on stages in Paris (New Morning), Zagreb (KSET), Belgrade (Beerfest), as well as in underground clubs across Osijek, Split, Sombor, Zrenjanin, and beyond—until they eventually lost touch, though never faded from each other's memory. Meanwhile, their respective artistic projects continued to evolve and flourish.

In 2023, JOKE & CHAKKA SVRAKA reunited on the iconic stage of Zagreb's Dva Osam club, Croatia. At a time marked by despair, as reactionary movements wage a relentless offensive against emancipation and internationalism, while war and identity-driven divisions shape the course of the world, the old collaborators had little choice but to continue the story they had begun years before.

Out of that reunion emerged the idea of composing and producing an album centered on the grammars of hope, infused with international creativity and friendship.

The forthcoming album was recorded between France and Croatia. Post-production was handled by Nenad Kovačić, mixing by Ognjen Zečević (Egoless), and mastering by Filip Motovunski. On the album Hope Options, JOKE & CHAKKA present ten powerful tracks driven by profound social critique and a burning desire for change.

CHAKKA SVRAKA: THE MASKED AVENGER WITH A SHARP PEN

An MC with a keen historical consciousness, poetic lyricism, and an uncompromising flow, CHAKKA SVRAKA wields the microphone like a weapon, performing as a masked avenger. He honed his craft with the groups Zion Crew and Waking Dub, beginning as a lyricist and vocalist. In 2009, he left Sombor and immersed himself in Zagreb's sound system scene.
