Silences – Solo Exhibition by Lena Beletić
As part of the 18th Days of Creativity, the ECPD – Regional Centre for Development Studies, located at 18 Flaciusova Street, will host the opening of Silences, a solo exhibition by Lena Beletić.
In Lena Beletić's artistic world, silence is a space of sensitivity—a place of encounter, observation, and inner dialogue. It is from this quiet realm that her ceramic works emerge, intertwining drawing, relief, and sculpture into a distinctive and recognisable artistic expression.
Her works feature human faces, hands, birds, and hybrid beings. These are symbols that invite personal interpretation. The figures' gazes are directed inward, their gestures are restrained, and each composition evokes a suspended moment in time. There is no aspiration towards monumentality in this symbolism; on the contrary, the artist consciously emphasises the beauty of human fragility, transforming it into one of the defining motifs of her visual language.
A distinctive feature of her practice is the way drawing transcends the flat surface and extends into three-dimensional space. Her ceramic forms break free from the conventional boundaries of the medium, while relief, texture, and line combine to create dynamic compositions. Although the exhibition's title suggests peace and introspection, the artist's world radiates warmth and optimism. Stylised figures and playful details are infused with humour, curiosity, and lightness, lending her works an immediate sense of warmth and accessibility.
The exhibition will remain open until 24 July, daily from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
