Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice, directed by Jug Đorđević and performed by Dijana Vidušin, is a radical deconstruction of the iconic dramatic text. This surrealist monodrama, which begins with what appears to be an ordinary telephone call, evolves into a deeply moving personal tragedy and a search for a woman’s lost identity at the moment of complete emotional collapse.

The production boldly explores the boundaries of theatre, sound, and psychology, posing fundamental questions: What happens when a dramatic text becomes an intimate personal confession—or even a pseudo-opera? How does a voice in the midst of a “nervous breakdown” transform into an abstract sound installation, and ultimately, whose human voice is it? Through the metamorphosis of sound, the performance offers an authentic interpretation that resonates with the contemporary moment.

This remarkable theatrical vision has received widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards at major regional festivals:
