VOYAGER in Pula
The courtyard of the Pula Observatory on Monte Zaro will host the premiere screening of Voyager, the first science fiction film from Istria, on Saturday, 11 July, beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Running for 28 minutes, the short film follows renowned Istrian astronomer Korado Korlević and his assistants as they notice an anomaly in the night sky and conclude that it is the Voyager space probe, originally launched into space in 1977. The probe crash-lands in an olive grove in Majmajola, where it is discovered by two Istrians.
Set in the 1990s, the film draws inspiration from Hollywood productions of that era and was filmed entirely using practical effects.
Valter Roša portrays Korado Korlević, while Romina Tonković and Edi Smoljan play his assistants. Teo Tiani and Toni Juričić appear as the two Istrians who discover the probe, while Davor Sanvincenti and Dijana Vidušin take on the roles of the story's antagonists. The cast is further complemented by supporting performances from Silvio Belušić and Boško Kosanović from Fažana, as well as renowned Pula photographer Hassan Abdelghani.
