ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE

EXIT is a double-bill contemporary dance programme created through a collaboration between the YELLOWBIZ Artistic Collective (YAC) and the Italian Cornelia Dance Company. The choreographies Salopette and Next explore the universal human desire to break free from physical and emotional discomfort.

Salopette reflects on a long-term relationship that yearns for transformation and the abandonment of ingrained habits. It is a story about the necessity of distance and escape, both of which become essential conditions for staying together and consciously choosing the other person. The second piece, Next, focuses on anticipation and a suspended state in which physical escape is impossible, prompting the search for an "exit" within—through thoughts and states of mind. Before the audience unfolds a series of lived experiences embodied by different characters, each tracing their own subjective path towards liberation.
