Ukraine's Independence Day in Pula

For the fourth consecutive year, Pula has been a place of safety for people who fled Ukraine because of the war. During this time, Croatia has truly become a second home for many of us. On Ukraine's Independence Day, we invite everyone to come together in gratitude to the Croatian people, in remembrance of those who continue to defend Ukraine, and to open a dialogue about integration, solidarity, and our shared future.

Join us on 24 August 2026 at Forum Square for a day of community, culture, and unity.

18:00 – Opening of the interactive installation "One Flag. One Life", where everyone is invited to become part of the artwork.

18:30 – Community march through the city along the route:
Forum – Kandlerova – Carrarina – Giardini – Portarata – Sergijevaca – Forum.

The march will be accompanied by UPM Udarni pulski marš.

19:30 – Return to Forum Square for the ceremonial unfolding of the largest Ukrainian flag in Croatia, measuring 35 metres, symbolising Ukraine's years of independence.

The evening concert will feature the Ukrainian Community of Zagreb ensemble "Blue Sky" with live music featuring violin, piano, double bass and vocals, talented Ukrainian artists living in Istria, including Stanislav Bilokin, a Ukrainian hip-hop artist and songwriter performing his original songs in Ukrainian and Croatian, along with many other performers.

The celebration will conclude with a spectacular fire performance by Olesia Rusinova and fire performance team.
