Thomas Ankersmit – The Tcherepnin Series (Music for the Original Serge Synthesizers)

Thomas Ankersmit, one of the prominent figures of contemporary analog electronics, presents a project dedicated to the historic Serge Modular systems. The material was created by working on original instruments in the studios of Harvard, Columbia, CalArts, EMS, GRM, and Willem Twee. The concert will be entirely analog, blending a live performance on Ankersmit's Serge system with recordings made in those studios. He will also hold a free three-day workshop on analog synthesis and experimental sound in Pula.

Bojan Gagić – Monophonic Diary: May 2026
An intimate sound diary consisting of 31 short audio forms records the author's affective and psychological states through noise and ambient instrumentation. The piece is performed on a single speaker, turning the mono system into a medium of heightened intimacy and an exploration of sound as memory.

The Thunks – Elisabeth Harnik / Martin Brandlmayr / Didi Kern
The Austrian improvisation trio combines prepared piano, acoustic and electronic sound, groove, and free improvisation, blurring the lines between melody, rhythm, and texture.

Širom
The Slovenian experimental avant-folk trio consisting of Iztok Koren, Samo Kutin, and Ana Kravanja uses more than twenty instruments to build a hypnotic blend of traditional sounds, minimalism, and contemporary acoustic meditations.

As part of the festival, two free workshops will be held: "Analog Synthesis and Experimental Sound" by Thomas Ankersmit and "Happy Place" by Bojan Gagić, dedicated to sound, memory, and smartphone field recording. Applications: kulturban.pula@gmail.com
