Two-Day Analogue Photography Workshop

Join us for a two-day analogue photography workshop dedicated to exploring the fundamentals of film photography and developing photographs in the darkroom. The workshop will take place at Rojc.

During the workshop, you will discover the development of the photographic medium, with a special focus on light and photographic composition: the characteristics and sources of light, colour temperature and white balance, working with light in different conditions, and the basic principles of composition.

You will learn the fundamentals of working with an analogue camera and explore different types of cameras and film, how cameras work, lenses, aperture and F-stop, shutter speed, exposure, focus, depth of field and ISO sensitivity. Part of the workshop will also focus on different types of photographic film.

The second part of the programme will introduce you to working in the darkroom, where you will learn about the process of developing film and printing black-and-white photographs, as well as the basics of working with photographic materials and understanding how light affects photosensitive materials.

The workshop will be led by Hassan Abdelghani and Robert Fedel, who will guide you through the entire photographic process through a combination of theory, hands-on practice and shared reflection on photography — from choosing a subject and taking the photograph to developing the film and making a print in the darkroom.
