From New York to Pula: The Metropolitan Opera Returns Live to Cinema Valli
Directly from the stage of New York’s Metropolitan Opera, nine opera titles from some of the most important works in the world’s operatic repertoire are coming to Cinema Valli in Pula. Pula is thus, and the only city in Croatia, part of the global The Met: Live in HD network, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and connects more than 70 countries around the world.
The season opens on October 3 with Mozart’s Così fan tutte, one of the most frequently performed operas in the world. The opening event will be further enriched by the appearance of Dražen Siriščević, a long-time promoter of opera, who will introduce the audience to the work and to the world of the Metropolitan Opera.
Cinema Valli will turn each opera evening into a special cultural event. Visitors can look forward to a red carpet, music, a glass of wine, complimentary bites and interesting special guests.
Alongside the opera programme, there will also be two outstanding ballet productions by the Paris Opera Ballet: Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake.
Opera lovers can purchase a package of at least five titles at a price of €15 per screening (available until January 23, 2027), while a single ticket costs €19 for an opera and €10 for a ballet.
