MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2026

Manhattan Short Film Festival 2026

Duration: 2 h 30 min

THE MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL IS BACK AT KINO VALLI THIS YEAR!

From 24 September to 4 October 2026, film lovers in more than 500 cities across six continents will gather in cinemas, museums, libraries and universities to watch and vote for the best films of the 29th edition of the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival.

Join us on 4 October at 8 p.m. at Kino Valli.

From Sydney, Mumbai, Moscow, Vienna and Cape Town to cinemas across all 50 U.S. states and numerous other countries, the best short films will reach audiences on every continent.

🎟️ AND YOU ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE FESTIVAL!

Upon arrival, visitors will receive the official programme and a ballot on which, after the screening, they can choose ONE film and ONE actor they believe deserve to win. The votes are collected by each individual festival host and then sent by email to the festival headquarters in New York.

DOES EVERY VOTE COUNT?

Absolutely. In 2011, 73,000 votes were cast, with just 127 votes separating first and second place. In 2018, fewer than 120 votes separated five films from winning the silver and bronze medals... On the final day of the festival, we called cinemas at midnight to make sure they had counted and submitted their votes. So yes, every vote counts.

❤️ So come along, watch the films, choose your favourites and vote!

See you on 4 October at the 29th MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival! 🎥🌎
