Book Presentation:„Multikulturalnost u MOJOJ Istri - La multiculturalità nella MIA Istria“

The book Multikulturalnost u MOJOJ Istri – La multiculturalità nella MIA Istria, written by Ivona Orlić, PhD, and Irina Basara, PhD, will be presented on 20 October 2026 in the Central Library Hall. The event is organised in cooperation with the County of Istria.

The presentation begins at 6 p.m. and is part of the Month of Croatian Books and the Week of the Italian Language in the World.

The book is intended for eighth-grade primary school pupils from across Istria. It was created at the initiative of the County of Istria, specifically its Administrative Department for the Italian Autochthonous National Community, National Minorities and Youth, with the aim of introducing younger generations to the rich world of multiculturalism, familiarising them with the distinctive characteristics of each national minority, and encouraging them to embrace diversity. Through stories, illustrations and themes drawn from everyday life, the book explores the wealth of cultures, languages, customs and identities that together shape Istria. The importance of this project is also reflected in the fact that around 2,000 copies of the book have been distributed free of charge to eighth-grade pupils throughout Istria this year.
